On Farm Sale
This year’s On-Farm Auction is on Friday 15 December 2023, 12 midday. Inspection from 10am. We have an Open Day on Friday 24 November 2023 when all sale rams are on display, as well as lambs sired by our rams.
This year at Wharetoa Genetics our On Farm Auction will be a “Hybrid Auction” incorporating the online auction platform bidr.
Everything is the same as usual if you come on farm or you have the option of staying at home and bidding online.
The rams are auctioned singly, through a sale ring, with full SIL production records in the catalogue.The quality of the rams put up for sale is at my discretion. I only put forward rams that I would be happy to use myself as a commercial farmer. 320 quality 2 tooth rams will be for sale this year. All rams are Vet tested prior to the sale. We are a brucellosis accredited free flock.
Our sale gives all farmers an ideal opportunity to purchase Maternal Rams, that will produce ewe flocks with Fertility, Survival, Growth, Meat, Wool, Disease Resistance, Constitution, and Conformation, that will be profitable and enjoyable to work with.
Our Terminal Rams mated to daughters of our Maternal Rams, will produce fast growing, high meat yielding, export lambs.
